About me

My husband and I both retired just a little over 4 years ago - January 2007. Well, to be more accurate, HE retired and I was laid off due to my employer closing their west coast regional offices. We didn’t plan those two events to happen on the very same day, but they did. We took that as a little nudge and decided to stay retired and do some traveling in our travel trailer. We sold just about everything we couldn’t fit in the pickup truck or RV and started choosing places we wanted to see on a big map.

And then I got cancer.

Our travel plans were put on hold as I went through chemotherapy, and one thing led to another, and here we are 4 years later. We’ve got a bigger RV now - a motor home in fact. And we have been full-time on the road for about a year now!  (You can read about our travels on our family website at DaleyTravels.com

Although I’ve been crocheting since I was a little girl, creating written patterns is something I started about 3 years ago. During my cancer treatment I found the process was something that kept me busy and engaged without using up the little physical energy I had left.

The birth of a granddaughter in September 2009 gave me the excuse to create lots of little baby hats - and I admit I'm hooked!  I'm always on the lookout for new ideas and ways to turn sewn hats & caps into crocheted versions.  I've been working with a professional photographer who does newborn photo shoots to trade for some really awesome pictures of some of my hats.
